Did you know you can re-route and haul for half the price to stretch your budget further? Minimize your DFW toll costs with our 5 tips.

1. New TollTag Per-Mile Rate: $0.22 As of July 1, 2025

NTTA increased its per-mile TollTag rate from $0.21 to $0.22 on July 1, 2025, as part of its regular biennial rate adjustment.

Tip: Fleets should now budget for this fixed baseline rate when estimating haul expenses.

2. ZipCash Charges Double the TollTag Rate ($0.44/mile)

Vehicles without TollTags are billed at twice the TollTag rate, meaning $0.44 per mile after the 2025 increase.

Tip: Ensure all infrastructure hauling vehicles (yours or your hauler’s) are enrolled in TollTag to avoid the premium ZipCash rate.

3. All NTTA Toll Roads Charge the Same $0.22 per Mile

Whether you’re hauling on the Dallas North Tollway, 360 Tollway, or any of the other six NTTA-operated roads, the same TollTag rate of $0.22/mile now applies. This uniform pricing helps simplify route planning across the region.

Tip: When calculating haul costs, use these roads to make route planning more predictable, with no adjusting per-mile toll estimates. Just focus on mileage and total segments.

4. Special Airport Toll is $9 Minimum on International Parkway

Even short trips under 8 minutes on International Parkway (DFW Airport) cost at least $9, far exceeding per‐mile highway tolls.

Tip: Avoid airport access roads for deliveries unless necessary. Park-and-run via frontage roads instead whenever possible to reduce DFW toll costs.

5. Rate Hike Helps Fund $8.8 Bn in Toll Bonds and Maintenance

The rate increase supports repayment of $8.8 billion in toll bonds obligations but it also funds ongoing capital investments like new road extensions – as well as maintaining the toll road infrastructure.

Tip: Use this information as justification with general contractors to explain why hauling rates must reflect toll cost increases.
